Activities to do on a trip to Africa

Known for safaris, seaweed, cheetahs, lions, leopards, giraffes, hippos, gorillas… or just plain green. Africa is a must for travellers and lovers of far-flung destinations. To visit when you are young, or to do in your retirement years, Africa welcomes all types of travellers and always has.
In the continent, there are many peoples who live close to their clan and their own. Amongst this block of humanity there are still attractions to do and activities to discover, in this article we look at the activities to do and discover when travelling in Africa.
In the dynamism of Africa, and among the African colours, we will see at first the playful activities where you will have fun, then we will see the utilitarian activities, to finish with the night activities.
Fun activities
Safari
A must-do activity on your trip to Africa: going on safari is a priority activity if you are travelling to a country that offers one.
It is a paid activity and the cost is quite high, ranging from €100 to €300.
It is important because it allows you to see a lot of animals in one visit and gives you the opportunity to take unique “shots”, the safari is done in groups of 10 to 15 people. And it is an important activity because of its nature, it also allows you to socialise during your trip, and gives you the opportunity to see and sometimes touch animals.
Scuba diving
Like safaris, scuba diving is a great activity to do on your African travels. It is one of the most popular activities for travellers, with the advantages of being able to examine the seabed without damaging the coral reef, wearing a tight-fitting suit, and feeding the fish as close as possible to where they live.
Nevertheless, scuba diving remains an expensive activity in Africa, and it is generally run by Westerners.
Utilitarian activities
Park visits
Visiting parks is an activity that is important and utilitarian because they endorse their existence and offer support for the environmental protection they provide. Usually run by Western and government agencies, parks are protected areas where unique species live and thrive. Visits to parks are one way to show interest in the existence of such structures.
Visit the sea by canoe with natives
Less well known but just as useful, a canoe trip with a native is a way of highlighting the importance of seabed conservation in close proximity to the local population. It gives local people the opportunity to meet westerners from other places, and perhaps learn and be inspired by them.
Walking in the visiting environment
Your visit to your visiting environment allows you to familiarise yourself with the environment, to talk to the locals which is important for your tourist discovery, but also to highlight the culture of your country. In Madagascar, the local population is generally welcoming and kind to foreign culture, and this is certainly the case in other countries of the world.
Walking around the environment of your stay
The walk around the place of stay is an important step in your trip, it allows you to better understand all the architecture of the place and to tell your trip at best. If you have chosen your own places to travel it allows you to better explain your choices otherwise it allows you to understand the reasons for the choices that have been made.
Here you have an article that refers to the reasons for doing an inspection of your place of stay: Travelling in an eco-responsible way.
Nightlife
Nightclubs
Nightclub visits in Africa are quite unusual. To mention just a few of the positive reasons for going we have put in this section three points for going.
If you want to find your prince charming, this is the best place to go.
If you like mass and crowded places, want to experience the African rush this is the place to go.
If you want to add a unique experience to your trip this is the place to go.
Night parties
Smaller parties are held at your place of stay or at a dining venue. They allow you to get closer to your travel group and strengthen ties. In Madagascar, you can request to hold a party at your accommodation at any time, and with a little advance notice you can take over the room.
Night parties are a good time to talk group and spread joy.
Night walks
Night walks are a good way to recharge your batteries. They are very rarely not recommended in Madagascar. Your night walk will allow you to recharge your batteries and find yourself. This is one of the benefits of a night walk in Africa. If you want to go for a night walk, it is customary to ask your tour leader or guide for advice, otherwise you might go out without approval.
